What an impressive showing from the Early Longhorn Varsity Boys Track Team on Friday. The Longhorns tallied an impressive four year high 253 points beating the nearest competition by a whopping 144 points. Season bests were recorded in almost all events with the Horns many times winning first, second and third in the events. Medal award winners were as follows:
4 x 400m Relay team of Carlos Moreno, David Shields, Brent Grooms and Austin Reveile (1st Place). Adrian Elizondo (2nd-Shot Put), Diego Crader (5th-Shot Put), Sebastian Perez (6th-Shot Put, 5th-discus), Tre Beam (2nd-discus), Carlos Moreno (1st-HJ, 3rd-400m), Brent Grooms (2nd-HJ, 2nd-400m), Ethan Mitchell (4th-HJ, 4th-TJ), Timmy Smithson (1st-TJ, 1st-300m hurdles), Vic Cooper (2nd-TJ, 4th-300m hurdles, 3rd-110 hurdles), Nathan Mitchell (1st-LJ), Riley Hill (4th-LJ), Jeramiah Fowler (1st-3200m, 2nd-1600m, 2nd-800m), Darryn Peters (5th-3200m), David Shields (1st-110 hurdles), Stephen Holt (1st-100m), Alex Jacobs (2nd-100m), Ryan Trompler (3rd-100m, 4th-200m), Austin Reveile (1st-400m), Johnny Clubb (3rd-200m), and Adan Aleman (5th-200m) . The 4x100m Relay team of Alex Jacobs, Timmy Smithson, Tre Beam and Ryan Trompler notched a four year best time of 44.55 for a second place finish and the 4x200m Relay team of Ryan Hicks, Kiah Laborn, Johnny Clubb and Tre Beam finished five seconds faster than last week for a third place finish to round out the scoring. Congratulations to all of our Horns track team. Very impressive outing. The Longhorns will return to action on Thursday March 21 as we host the Longhorn Relays.
